This all depends on the person you are and how well you deal with things in life. Anxiety can affect people short-term or long term.
In my personal opinion, it comes down to how you deal with it. I’ve been suffering from anxiety since 2009 and it disappeared in 2013 which I thought I had done all the work to get rid of it. Sadly it made a return this year 2017. I would even go as far as saying it has come back stronger and harder as if to test my strength.
I haven’t given up on trying to get rid of anxiety as I’m the sort of person who doesn’t like being controlled. Do I think I will ever be free of it, no! But I’ll do my damn best to suppress the feeling and learn to work with it.
You have to find what works for you best and keep doing it. If I learned anything in the early day of my anxiety is don’t let it win, don’t give up on life and lock yourself away.
Keep strong, be strong and don’t be ashamed of yourself. It’s not your fault.
